You've read prior Academy articles. You know Trendscanner, Smart Setups, Paper Trading, RODY, Strategy Maker, alerts, and watchlist. Now the real question: how to combine them into workflow matching your style? Using each tool in isolation misses synergy making DYOR true platform. This article gives three typical stacks, and method for building yours.
The principle: a stack, not a list
A tool "stack" isn't random feature collection you use ad-hoc. It's a chained process where each tool feeds next:
- Discovery: which tool brings opportunities to you?
- Filtering: what passes from discovery to watchlist?
- Analysis: how deeply validate?
- Execution: how make decision?
- Monitoring: how manage open positions?
Good stack answers these five in logical order, leaving little improvisation.
Stack 1: part-time swing trader
Profile: you have a job, swing trade on 4h and 1D, 2-3 sessions daily, 3-8 trades weekly.
Discovery
- Smart Setups filtered confidence ≥ 6, bias bullish or bearish per current BTC direction;
- Push/Telegram alerts on all new setups matching criteria.
Filtering
- Each new setup inspected quickly: coherent with macro bias? Coin on watchlist or close? If yes, enters active watch watchlist.
- Weekly review of watchlist: anything not concluded in 14 days exits.
Analysis
- For each watch coin, open detailed view once daily (morning) and check:
- 1D trend (EMA, ADX);
- Major technical levels;
- Multi-TF RSI;
- Detected pattern, active divergence.
- If 4-5 confluences align → build complete trade plan (entry, stop, target, size).
Execution
- Price alert on ideal entry level;
- When alert triggers, check 1h for timing signal (rejection candle, volume);
- If yes, execute immediately. Otherwise, pass.
Monitoring
- One position check daily (no more);
- Update trailing stop if trade profitable;
- Exit at predefined TP (tranche exits 50/30/20).
Total time daily: 20-30 minutes. Trade frequency: 3-8/week. Compatible with full-time job.
Stack 2: active trader
Profile: more time available, day trade 1h with parallel swings, 5-10 trades daily.
Discovery
- Trendscanner permanently open with preset fitting current market regime;
- Smart Setups refreshed hourly, filtered on targeted watchlist (not entire universe);
- Pump alerts active for opportunistic moves;
- Breakout alerts on consolidation coins identified previous day.
Filtering
- Quick visual sort of Trendscanner results (5-10 sec per line): worth detailed view?
- 3-8 setups daily retained for deeper analysis.
Analysis
- Quick detailed view open: 2 minutes max per coin;
- Cross-TF validation (1D context, 4h structure, 1h timing);
- R/R calculation, verify setup worthy of position.
Execution
- Validated setups → trade plan before execution;
- Strict sizing respect (1% per trade, no more);
- Never 3-5+ simultaneous open positions (total exposure limited).
Monitoring
- Recheck every 1-2 hours (not more often, generates nervous decisions);
- Adjust stops trailing if winning;
- Partial exit at intermediate TP, trailing last tranche.
Total time daily: 3-5 hours. Frequency: 5-15 trades/day. Needs you present.
Stack 3: active investor (long-term + opportunism)
Profile: primarily long-term investor (holding BTC/ETH/few alts), want to optimize entries and profit from corrections for DCA or tactical positions.
Discovery
- Price alerts on BTC and ETH at major technical levels (1D/1W supports);
- Smart Setup alerts filtered confidence ≥ 7 and bullish bias, only on investment coin list;
- Daily digest by email (no untimely notifications);
- RODY chat for weekly context ("summarize BTC situation this morning").
Filtering
- Alerts trigger action only if about coin in structural portfolio;
- Otherwise archived as general info.
Analysis
- More measured analysis, primarily 1D and 1W;
- Multi-TF but higher TFs (1W/1D/4h instead of 1D/4h/1h);
- Focus on structural levels (major supports, Fibonacci zones, 1D EMA 200 retests).
Execution
- Progressive DCA on interest zones (multiple tranches at different levels);
- No tight stops: stops at structural invalidation levels (below which long-term thesis false). Wide.
- Position sizes based on conviction, not short-term ATR.
Monitoring
- Weekly position check (not daily);
- Quarterly rebalancing or threshold-based;
- No stress, no impulsive action.
Total time weekly: 1-2 hours. Change frequency: low. Ideal for non-daily traders.
Building your personal stack
These three are templates. Your real stack must reflect:
- Time available — realistically, how many hours daily/weekly can you dedicate?
- Temperament — comfortable with short-term volatility, or stress quickly?
- Goals — accumulate long-term capital, generate short-term income, or both?
- Experience — beginners should start fewer tools, more simplicity.
Steps to build yours
Step 1: define main objective. One sentence: "swing trade 4h alongside job", "improve DCA entries on holds", "actively day trade alts". Without anchor, stack drifts.
Step 2: identify 3-5 DYOR tools matching. Not ten. Three to five. Beyond, you scatter.
Step 3: chain tools. What triggers what? In what order? Draw flow on paper: "alert → watchlist → detailed view → decision → execution → monitoring".
Step 4: test in paper. Minimum two weeks, apply stack in paper. Note where it blocks, where you improvise, where flow smooth.
Step 5: adjust. Remove unused tools. Add missing ones. Fine-tune thresholds and filters. Good stack built in 4-6 week iterations.
Step 6: lock and respect. Once working, stick with it minimum 1-2 months before modifying. Discipline beats constant optimization.
What NOT to do
Stack "just in case" tools. Trendscanner permanently open with 5 presets, plus Smart Setups, plus alerts on 3 channels, plus RODY chat, plus Strategy Maker… recipe for exhausted trader doing nothing well. Fewer tools well-mastered > more tools half-used.
Change stack every bad week. All stacks have bad weeks. If yours validated by metrics, one bad week isn't signal to overhaul. Keep course.
Copy pure stack without adapting. Three examples here are starting points, not ready-to-use solutions. Each trader must adjust to reality.
